Welcome to our Church website. We hope there's a little bit of information here about who we are and what we do.

 

For better or for worse, we are a community striving to respond to God's love for us, by living a life marked by love ourselves. St Joseph is a bit of a hero to us, our patron saint.

In one sense, we would like to invite you to our Sunday Gathering, which we call the Eucharist, but it may be helpful to catch up with one of the Priests first and introduce yourself. Our Sunday Gathering is rich in history and symbolism and probably needs a bit of explaining, otherwise you might feel a bit lost. Nevertheless, Christians have been gathering each Sunday, right around the world, celebrating this same timeless ritual for the past 2000 years - The Eucharist. It is both the source and summit of our faith.

Please check out all the groups in our parish, and don't hesitate to contact the representative to introduce yourself and ask any questions you might have.

If you are returning to the Catholic faith having been away for a while, hopefully we can help you reconnect. You may have questions about Church teaching and other important issues. You may have been scandalised by some injustice you witnessed, or you, or someone you love, may have been seriously hurt by someone in the Church. We acknowledge the many sins by members of our Church family, past and present, and we are mindful that reconciling with the Church again may be a long process.

If you’re coming back to the Catholic faith, welcome home! The mercy and unconditional love of God is revealed in how the father embraced the repentant prodigal son when he humbly returned. We are all sinners, which is why we need the sacrament of Reconciliation. This beautiful Sacrament is about God’s love, mercy and forgiveness, and allows us to fully reconcile with Christ and the Church again, no matter how far we may have fallen. Even if you haven’t been for a long time and do not remember how to go to Confession, the priest can gently guide you through.

 

If you are new to the Christian faith completely, you may like to start with reading about the life of Jesus Christ, who is at the very centre of our faith. The Gospel of Luke in the Holy Bible gives the story of Jesus, starting when he was born at Christmas, and ending with his passion, death and resurrection from the dead at Easter. The Acts of the Apostles then continues with how the Church was born, established on the foundation of the apostles and empowered by the Holy Spirit. We also encourage you to begin praying to God regularly. The Our Father and the Hail Mary prayers may be a good start. The Our Father is the model of all prayer, given to us by Jesus himself. With the Hail Mary prayer, ask for our Heavenly Mother to help you in your search for the truth and to strengthen you in your faith.
